GUYS!! Great GIFT for your WIFE

So, if you haven't figured it out yet, I'm not very good at this whole blogging thing. My friend Sami manages to blog every week...I really need to take some lessons from her!

My weaknesses aside, here's the scoop...

First, the title...we have ready to go gifts that every guy will love for their simplicity and every woman will love for their taste. GIFT BASKETS! All next week, we will have gift baskets in varying price ranges ready to go. All you have to do is stop in, pick it up, pay and you are done! Check that hard to buy for person off your list with the yummiest gift they'll get this year...we guarantee it's better than fruitcake!

Second, did you know we SHIP our delectable treats? There are certainly some items (candies) that ship better than others (cinnamon rolls) but we are happy to work with you to create a package that suits the recipients tastes. It'll be the yummiest gift they get this year!!

Lastly, I've been playing in the kitchen and have a few personal favorites for Christmas treats. Thanks to Pinterest, I've discovered that Nutter Butter Reindeer are too cute for words and would be a perfect treat for your child's class. I'm also loving S'mores on a Stick...cute AND yummy!!

It's most certainly NOT too late to order pies or pumpkin rolls for your family Christmas. And Santa called...he wants OUR cookies this year! :)

New cakes, new events!

Hi all!

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged! Life gets crazy fast these days.  I've been having fun working on some shaped and tiered cakes at the shop. Check it out:

It's been a while since we've had a good kids day! Time to change that...with a party!  On Friday, Oct 28th (to not conflict with Boofest) we are having a Halloween Kids Fun Fest. Come in costume to the shop between 5:30 and 7:30 to participate in games, decorate a cookie, and have your picture taken for our costume contest. There will be prizes for the best costume and the most original costume! Cost is $5 per child.  No reservations are needed, just come join us!!

All you Twilight fans...we have something fun and special planned for opening night of Breaking Dawn!  Stay tuned for details.

The shop will be undergoing some physical changes in the coming weeks. No changes to hours or days we're open are planned at this time, but I'll let you know if that becomes necessary.  We are looking forward to a fresh face and plan to have a celebration when it's done.

Where did June go???

Hello all,

June has obviously passed me by without a second glance! I can't believe how crazy life has been, but I'm loving every minute of it.  Just wanted my blog followers to be the first to know...

Starting June 26th (that's tomorrow!) I will be serving a boxed lunch daily! Each lunch comes with: a grown-up grilled cheese, chips, 2 cookies and a 16 oz soft drink for just $5.50!!

You choose up to 3 types of cheese for your sandwich (cheddar, swiss, muenster, mozarella, colby or pepper jack) and your thick sliced bread (white, wheat or rye) and we'll make your sandwich fresh.  Add shaved turkey or ham to your sandwich for just $1 more.  The bread and cookies are fresh baked from my kitchen.  Call ahead and we'll have lunch ready when you get here.  Can't leave work for lunch? No problem! Just gather 5 orders from your location and I'll deliver at no charge.

Breakfast Time!

We are now officially open for breakfast!! Despite my alarm not going off, I am in the shop and have freshly baked mini quiche, egg breakfast scrambles and will soon have apple dumplings.  Starting tomorrow, we will daily have my signature cinnamon rolls and DONUTS from Viking Foods in Akron!  I'll be baking my little heart away today as I train my new employee, Jayme Brooks. She will be helping me in the kitchen so I have more time to grow my business and come up with fun new desserts to bring you.  Don't worry, I will be teaching her to bake like me so you will never see a decrease in quality.

I hope to see you in for breakfast soon! And spread the word to everyone you see...Sarah's Sweets is now open at 7 am for breakfast!

Time flies when you're having fun...

Time also flies when you're baking the day away in a kitchen without air conditioning! :)  I have finished my orders for the day...graduation cookies for Grace Preschool, cinnamon rolls and Oreo Delight for Slappy's Rib Shack...so the oven is off and I think it's finally dipped below 80 in here.  I'm not one to typically complain about the heat, but it is incredibly difficult to ice cookies when it's that hot!

Fresh on the shelf today...cinnamon rolls! These will become a daily offering with my new hours next week, so be sure to stop in when you have a hankering for one.  I also have fresh apple dumplings, quadruple chocolate brownies and confetti cupcakes.  I know your mouth is watering so why don't you just take a quick break and come get a snack?

That's right...new hours go into effect next week. I will be closed Sun and Mon still, but will now be open from 7 am - 2 pm Tues-Sat.  Lots of "grab & go" breakfast foods that I'll talk more about later this week.

It's hot in here!

The temperature outside has certainly skyrocketed and it's not too much cooler in here...I've been giving the oven a workout this morning!  2 Dutch Apple pies (1 for an order), some brownies for another order and now fresh cookies.  Be sure to stop in and try some of my new Birnn truffles!
